WALCOT HALL NURSING HOME

ABOUT US

Walcot Hall is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection and provides both short and long-term nursing care for up to 45 elderly people. It is an old hall built in the 18th century and is currently being extended to a high standard to provide additional rooms. The hall is set on three acres of mature gardens that include a small lake and paved areas for residents to use. Walcot Hall has been a nursing home for the last fifteen years and under the same ownership until it was taken over by Alan Bird in 2005.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Walcot Hall Nursing Home has a dedicated team of registered nurses and care assistants who have many years of experience of looking after the special needs of older people. Staff are trained to exceptionally high standards to ensure that all residents are cared for in a warm, friendly and professional manner that encourages dignity and choice.

Nursing care is provided on an individual basis and residents are encouraged to maintain their independence within a comfortable and homely environment.

ACCOMMODATION

Residents' rooms are arranged over two floors, which overlook the lawns, the lake, gardens and surrounding countryside. The older part of the hall has been refurbished and a new 26 bed extension was completed in November 2009, which offers a selection of single rooms and double rooms with en-suite facilities, many with level access showers, that have been carefully designed and furnished to create space and promote and comfort. All rooms are equipped with a nurse call system, TV and telephone point.

SERVICES

Medical cover is provided by the GP practices at the Diss Health Centre. Other healthcare practitioners are very welcome to call at the home. We can also offer regular visit by a chiropodist and hairdresser. Activities provided by staff trained within the home include reminiscences and extend exercise classes.
